Children, youth, and Family Ministry

Welcome!

Welcome to our children and family ministry page! Here you will find information on our purpose, what to expect, and upcoming events. For those of you who may be interesting in visiting Saint Gabriel, welcome! We hope you will find this resource helpful. For those who regularly participate, we hope you will utilize this page to keep updated on coming events.

Our Purpose

The core mission of Saint Gabriel the Archangel is to proclaim and celebrate the Good News of God’s grace and live-changing love for all. One of the areas through which we work to express this is the Children, Youth, and Family Ministry (CYF Ministry). Here in the CYF Ministry we share in God’s grace and love by learning and living the Christian story.

We support the family household as the primary context for faith formation. Therefore it is our goal to be more than a Sunday-only ministry for children and youth. We strive to be a ministry for the whole family where everyone's gifts will be valued.

Further, within the church family of Saint Gabriel we will share in the blessings - and sometimes the sorrows - of the whole church; it is a community with a wide diversity of ages and life experiences interacting week-by-week.

Everyone has something to contribute!

NURSERY CARE

The nursery is currently closed on Sundays until we find a nursery worker

Children's Formation at Saint Gabriel

We are blessed with a fully-equipped Godly Play Classroom and engage our children using either Godly Play lessons or alternative curriculums during the 10:15 Sunday service. We also provide a clean, safe nursery for children ages 6 months through 4 years – we are looking to open the nursery back up soon as soon as we find a nursery worker.

For any further information regarding Children’s Formation, please contact Meg Stern.

YOUTH formation at saint gabriel

We are currently meeting monthly on Sunday mornings from 10am-1pm, with other activities planned throughout the year.  The youth are active in parish events such as the Pancake Breakfast and Palm Sunday readings, as well as serving as acolytes. We even put on a fabulous spread for coffee hour occasionally!

We have a wonderful group of young people and love having guests come visit!

If you would like to learn more or get onto our contact list, please email Meg Stern.
